A lot of people think that when you join an opt-in list it automatically gives you the right to present your programs or opportunity to the list. This is not often the case as what you mainly get is bulk email from the List owner and paid advertisers.

Mail from these lists often arrives as a surprise and you discover that when you joined a particular program you were automatically subscribed to the newsletter or mail list being developed by the owner of the program you joined. It took me the best part of a day to go through my mail and have a look at the benefits I obtained from all the newsletters I receive, and the mail that flows from opt-in sources. After unsubscribing from quite a number which I got nothing from (except mail offers) I have noticed a distinct reduction in my junk email.

Late last year, I joined extreme mail - a decision I would not recommend to anyone. My mailbox was flooded with emails (up to 20+ daily) - and for this, I was entitled to post to the list once a month. No thank you. Unsubscribe!

Discussion lists are a far better return. These are usually moderated and have guidelines as to what will be accepted for publication. How About This?

I have established a moderated Discussion list - traffic circles - which will initially be published weekly. The focus of the List will be Promotional and Traffic Generation - Tips, Tools and Programs. Members of the List may contribute to each publication in the following areas:

Feature Articles - these must have real content and not merely disguise a program or opportunity that you are promoting (1,000 to 3,000 words)

Comment - Good Program / Bad Program, Tips and Tools, Issues etc (500 to 1,000 words)
